11/06/07 - Comp Cams has replaced it's 130lb valve springs with 125lb springs. These springs support slightly more lift than the units they replace. When upgrading to a cam or rockers it becomes imparitive to upgrade valve springs to combat valve float (for more information on valve float read below). For your convenience we offer 3 different springs rates for use on various setups from daily driver to full out drag car.
Spring Rates: - Medium Duty (90lbs) - Recommended for use with rocker cars or light cams w/ long ramp rate; Springs support .550" lift & 6000+rpm shifting in their stock application
- Comp Cams Heavy Duty (105lbs) - Recommended for use with rockers or light to medium lift cams; supports up to .600" lift
- Comp Cams X-Treme Duty (125lbs) - Recommended for high lift cams with aggressive ramp rates; Supports up to .600" lift; Requires dual timing chain setup
Please note: All aftermarket 3800 springs are LSx based and require valve spring retainers from an LS1 (available on our site). Installing springs with stock retainers will lower installed height and needlessly overstress the valvetrain for any given lift.
