Your tie-rod ends are loose. You want to replace them. Our tie rods are inexpensive. They have grease fittings. Grease fittings are good. Theoretically they should last the life of your car. But you didn't hear that from us and we'll deny it if you ask us. Seriously though, just buy these. We can't afford our BMW's otherwise. A bad tie rod can be diagnosed by lifting the wheels off the ground and moving the wheel side to side (as if it was being turned by the steering wheel). If there is play you need a new tie-rod. We recommend replacing both sides at the same time. Price is for 1 tie-rod end. All 1997 - 2008 W Bodies use the same part with the exception of 2004+ Grand Prixs.
