Having established that a wideband 02 sensor is 100% better for tuning than a narrowband 02 sensor, we're now faced with literally hundreds of different "kits" that are on the market. How are we to know what's good and what's bad? Well never fret. We took the guesswork out of this. We're pleased to offer this plug and play kit. You're probably wondering what makes this offering better than the rest. We'll we're ready for that question: - 2 1/16ths Gauge - Most wideband kits on the market use a bulky controller with a dot matrix display on it. This is awkward to use and especially awkward to hold when trying to make a run. Our kit uses a standard sized gauge that will fit in your A pillar pod or any other location where you have gauges installed. As well as displaying the exact air/ fuel ratio, the gauge also displays the more traditional "circle of LEDs" (red, yellow, and green) to let you know where you are running.
- PowrTuner Compatibility - As well as being able to monitor a conveniently placed gauge, this kit also utilizes a 0 - 5v output that can be datalogged with your PowrTuner A/D. This means that you can compare true air/fuel ratio on the same sheet with all your other scan variables taking the guesswork out of determining what ratio the PCM's 02 Sensor millivolt reading actually is.
- Compact package - You might notice that most "kits" out there consist of a wideband sensor and a clumsy converter box with a digital readout. This kit is completely self contained for an easy, clean install.
We are confident that this is not only the easiest to use kit available on the market but also the most flexible. Do I need a PowrTuner to log data with this gauge? - No. Included with this kit is a serial cable (R232) that you can connect to your laptop enabling you to monitor just the air/ fuel without the use of any additional software however the wideband can also be used with your Powrtuner. Does this kit include a sensor? - Yes. A Bosch style 5 wire heated sensor is included with this kit. Can I run lead/ lead substitutes with this sensor - Lead no, lead substitutes yes. Running leaded fuel with this sensor will dramatically shorten it's life (as well as the stock 02 sensor's life).
