For high boost, high power applications nothing beats an MLS (Multi-layer) gasket. Cometic offers these 4 layer gaskets designed to handle all but the most intense of setups. Copper Spray - While Cometic, and makers of other MLS gaskets, recommend against using copper spray we've found (as have many others) that the use of copper spray is required for a consistent first time seal. It is our recommendation on this specific application to use copper spray (available below).
Gasket Thickness - Stock head gasket thickness on 3800 engines is .062". Every ~0.006 difference in thickness will yield +/- .1 compression point. Thicker gaskets will lower compression while thinner gaskets will increase compression and thus power.
