New aluminized downpipe options allow us to offer you the most value for your money. Aluminized steel is dipped to protect it from the elements and prevent rust. If stainless is your thing we still offer that as well!
In December of 2005 W Body Store became the first vendor to bring affordable downpipes to the Grand Prix market. We're pleased to once again offer a variety of downpipes that are in stock and ready to ship. No other W body vendor has been making downpipes longer than W Body Store. We're the least expensive and we're the best.
Gains of 10 - 15 horsepower and a drop of 5 - 6 degrees of knock possible (varies with current modifications)
All W Body Store 3" Downpipes feature:
- Flexpipe - Standard is our single wall flex-pipe. Our single wall flexes have proven to be a great product and limit whistling often associated with cheaper single wall flexes. Interlock flex is a $10.00 option and offers additional peace of mind.
- Converter - Magnaflow converters feature stainless steel construction and are a high-flow design. We warranty our converters for 1 year against breakdown.
- Material - W Body Store 3" downpipes come in aluminized or stainless steel!
- Style - Standard downpipes come in a weld-in style which needs to be welded to the remainder of the stock pipe. If bolt-in is your thing simply select that option and you'll receive a pipe ready to bolt in. Keep in mind, most shops charge ~$50.00 - $100.00 to weld in a pipe so it might end up being cheaper to get the bolt-in version.
- Bends - Mandrel bends are now one piece for increased flow and reduced turbulence.
Some 2001+ vehicles may throw a Catalyst Inefficiency code when using our catted downpipe. This does not indicate a defective converter but rather just differences in PCM programming. This can be corrected by running an o2 simulator or purchasing one of our PCMs and having the code removed. |
