Congratulations on your purchase of the W Body Store Performance Shift Kit! This shift kit is designed for the 4T65-E (and HD) transaxle. This kit will increase the firmness of your shifts by utilizing shims and firmer springs to delay the accumulator piston release thus increasing line pressure.
PLEASE NOTE: If running an aftermarket PCM with raised transmission line pressure please ensure that you are installing the "street" version of our kit. The race version, combined with raised line pressure, will result in unnecessarilly firm shifts and compromises the integrity of your transmissions internal hard parts. The "street" version of the kit will have 2 1/2" spacers and two 3/4" spacers while the race version will have two 3/4" spacers and two 1" spacers. Step 1. Remove the transmission pan ( hint: keep the bolts tight on the “flat” side of the pan and remove these last to allow the pan to tilt toward the pointed end. This allows ATF to drain from the pointed side and doesn’t make quite the same mess as it would if you just dropped the pan evenly.)Inspect your fluid and pan for debris to determine the condition of your trans. Step 2. Remove the 4 accumulator to transmission bolts. (The accumulator is the seperate unit with the three lines going from it to the transmission. Once the accumulator has been unbolted carefully remove it. The three lines entering it are press fit and will slide right out. Step 3. Remove the 7 cover bolts and remove the 2 pistons. Important: Retain the large lower springs. Step 4. Discard the two upper springs (the smaller ones) and replace with provided springs in kit. Retain the same orientation when installing (metal cover faced down) Step 5: Install the smaller spacers in between the accumulator housing and the bottom of the piston and the larger spacers on the top side of the piston Step 6: Reinstall, pay close attention to the rigid fluid lines that feed the accumulator body and make sure that you attach them to their correct locations. Step 7: Reinstall transmission filter using supplied replacement and retaining sleeve.

*This installation should take no more than 1 hour start to finish including clean up. You will need 8-10 quarts of transmission fluid.
* When installing the new springs and spacers do not forget that you will be installing the new parts on both pistons, the 1-2 shift and the 2-3 shift.
