When compared to the stock 3" tensioner our 3.5" tensioner pulley offers 4 distinct advantages:
- Increased supercharger pulley wrap (This means that more of the supercharger belt is coming in contact with the supercharger pulley)
- The ability to run a stock supercharger belt with 3.5, 3.4, and 3.2 inch supercharger pullies
- Increases belt tension where belt swap not allowed
- Steel pulley outlasts OE plastic - NOW ALL PULLEYS ARE STEEL!
This pulley installs in 5 minutes and is removed via one 15mm bolt.
Some H bodies use a torx bit to remove the idler pulley. Additionally some are reverse threaded. This is not the case with W bodies (Regal GS, Grand Prix, Impala SS, Monte Carlo SS, etc). These cars only require one 15 mm socket for removal.
