We recommend changing your oxygen sensor every 60,000 miles. The upstream sensor determines the mix of air/ fuel in the exhaust and changes the incoming air/ fuel ratio based on this number. If the sensor is not reading accurately the vehicle will not add fuel accurately resulting in a motor that is running too rich or worse yet: too lean.
While changing it out, why not change it out for something better? This Denso sensor utilizes an aluminum oxide trap designed for filtering out impurities that could affect it's performance. This makes the Delco sensor much more resistant to the effects of lead (present in high octane race fuel) when compared to the stock sensor. If that's not enough, it also outperforms the stock sensor under normal conditions.
Please Note: This oxygen sensor NOT for use in Series III Engines.
