In higher horsepower applications the stock MAF reaches a flow ceiling at which point the PCM can no longer adjust for added air. This generally happens around a 3.0" pulley on a 97' - 03' vehicle. We now offer an 85mm MAF that exponentially outflows the stock MAF assembly. For more more information on why you need this please see the "Tech Notes" section below.

At what point do I need this MAF Sensor? As always, we recommend you scan your vehicle to get some insight into exactly how it is performing. The stock MAF reaches a flow ceiling at ~11,500 hertz. Beyond this point the PCM no longer can compensate for additional air. If you're scanning your car and seeing excessively high MAF readings then it's time to consider a larger MAF sensor.
